Basic skin care routine while on vacation
We, women often indulge ourselves in various skin care routines in our everyday life to maintain a healthy and glowing skin. But while travelling, maintaining the same routine is bit of a task, as we will not be able to carry all of our skin care products along with us and also sometimes we might just be lazy to follow all the steps. Inorder to make it easy, we have listed down few tips that we follow during our travels through which you could achieve healthy and glowing skin in simple steps and few products:
1. Drink lots of water
First rule of keeping your skin healthy and hydrated is by drinking lots and lots of water. Water not only helps in maintaining body fluids but also helps in moisturizing as well as delivering essential nutrients to the skin.
2. Cleanse, Tone and moisturize
Never ignore or forget these three golden steps of skin care. Cleansing your face everyday (twice) helps to remove dirt built up, maintain proper pore size, boosts hydration resulting in radiant and healthy skin. We use Cleansing foam by Seba Med, which is perfect for all types of skin.

Using a toner after cleansing your face helps in reducing pore size and lock down the moisture. The Vichy Normaderm, which is perfect for acne prone, sensitive skin is our ultimate answer for a perfect toner.

And how can we forget to moisturize after cleansing and toning. Always keep your skin (both face and body) well moisturized especially when you are traveling in flight or to a cold destination. For face we use daytime moisturizer by OLAY with SPF 24, it is light and spreads evenly on the skin. For the body we use Jergens body lotion which won’t let your skin dry all day long.

Exfoliating is a must to remove the dry skin cell from the surface, which is why we use Vitamin C Microdermabrasion by The Body Shop, a perfect solution to get rid of dull skin. As for having a smooth body we carry exfoliating gloves by The Body Shop, it is quite handy and useful while traveling. We use Montagne Jeunesse foot buffer to gently massage and relax our feet at the end of the day after all our feet deserves a little treat for all the hard work.
Both the above mentioned Body Shop products are available at all The Body shop stores across India.
Protecting your skin from the sun must be on the top of the must-do skin regimen as the harmful UV rays can cause major damage to your skin. One of our favorite sun block for face is by Lotus Herbals with tinted sunscreen that serves dual purpose of sunscreen and foundation. We also recommend sunscreen by Vichy Capital Soleil with SPF 50+ which is perfect when your skin is exposed to sun for a long time. For the body we use sunscreen lotion by Banana Boat Sport either SPF 110 or 50, it is water and sweat resistant and non-greasy, an ideal partner for beach holiday.

6. Nourish your lips
We often complain about dry, chapped lips while traveling and keep applying lip balm to avoid this. The best remedy to prevent this is by using a lip scrub first to scrub off the dry top layer of the lip and also plumps up the lips 😉 and then apply generous amount of lip balm. We use one of the cutest lip balms by EOS. It is 100% natural and gives moisture to our lips as well as keeps it soft and smooth.
EOS strawberry sorbet lip balm price: Rs. 425 for 7g (available here)
7. Night serum
As we all know nighttime serum can do miracle to the damaged skin so why to skip such a crucial product out of our routine while traveling. The skin is exposed to dust, pollution and sun maximum while we are on vacations, hence we recommend Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. It not only repairs your damaged skin but also helps in protecting it and has advanced anti-aging formula.

8. Relax and sooth your eyes
After a long day of touring and exploring our eyes get tired and strained, the best and inexpensive way to treat your eyes is by using the gel eye mask, which can be used either by heating up or cooled down. Hydrating eye gel by Forest Essentials is one more product we would recommend to use as it helps in soothing and keeping your under eye hydrated and fresh. Although this product is a bit pricey it is well worth it and comes in 15g pack, which is perfect to use while on flight.
