Our favourite Coffee shops in Mumbai

Mumbai Coffee shopMumbai city loves its coffee shops, one will find atleast one coffee shop in every corner of the street, be it one of the many franchises of famous coffee chains or quaint little place adorning the neighborhood. Everybody is in look out for a perfect place, where they can hang out with friends, hold business meetings or just spend some alone time reading a good book and coffee shops provide a perfect environment to do all of the above. Although we are no coffee fanatics, we still love spending time in these places (maybe just for the desserts that are in offer) and we have listed down our 6 favourite cafés below that we are sure you guys will totally love.

1. Prithvi café

Prithvi CafeThis lovely open-air café located within the premises of the famous Prithvi Theatre is a much-loved coffee shop in the city. The cosy seating under the tree shades gives you a perfect reason to spend hours enjoying a chat with friends soaking in the artsy atmosphere. After the sunsets, the place lits up with miniature lights and lanterns, transforming it into beautiful and romantic environment. Although one might have to wait for a long time to grab a table, but it is all worth it to relish on the mouth-watering waffles and their famous Irish coffee.

Prithvi Café, Prithvi Theatre, Janki Kutir, Juhu Church Road, Juhu, Mumbai

2. Bird Song – The Organic Café

Bird Song CafeBird Song Café serves the best hot chocolate in town, like mouth wateringly delicious hot chocolate!! But then we don’t think there is any food item here that doesn’t keeps you digging in for more and send you to food coma. Tucked in one of the narrow lanes of Bandra (and might be hard to find), Bird Song Café is a rustic little place that serves organic food that is not only tasty but healthy as well.Bird Song Cafe

3. The Rolling Pin (TRP)

Rolling Pin is a vegetarian bakery located in the busy street of Lower Parel, right opposite to the High Street Phoenix Mall. It might not categorically belong to coffee shop list, but this just the right place to hit for a hot cup of coffee and delicious snacks and desserts after a busy day shopping. The Rolling Pin

4.Kala Ghoda Café

We came across this café while doing a heritage tour of the city and we were instantly taken with the quaint set up of the place. Named after the neighbourhood it is located in, Kala Ghoda Café also houses an art gallery. The café is very small with about 6 tables and has an attic style sitting space. The décor is minimalistic with paintings on display on either sides of the wall. The rich organic coffees served here regenerates your senses and keeps you asking for more.Kala Ghoda Cafe

5. Leaping Windows

Leaping WindowsLeaping Windows is a café cum comic library is a cute little place located in the quite neighborhood of Versova. The coffee shop is on the top floor with both outdoor and indoor seating and the library is the basement. We can spend hours either sitting in the cozy library lost in the colourful world of comics or indulging in the delicious Nutella/ Banana pancakes and their sinful hot chocolate.

6. Britannia & Company Restaurant

Well, Britannia might not be considered as a typical coffee shop in any sense, but we do want to include one of the City’s oldest and last few surviving Irani Café. Britannia Restaurant is a much-loved place by every Mumbaikar who has ever been here and has people from all over the world rushing here to relish on the traditional Parsi and Iranian delicacies. The lovely owner Boman Kohinoor never seizes to amaze you with his stories and instantly brightens up your day with his lively attitude. The Raspberry Soda, Dhansak (lentil gravy), Berry Pulao (special recipe from the Kohinoor family) and the delicious caramel custard are our favourites from this legendary place.

I think Mumbai must have changed so much since I last visited in 1997, as I don’t remember the coffee shop culture being particularly good then. These places all look great though. I’d particularly like to give Birdsong Cafe a go.

I love coffee shops! All of these locations look wonderful, but if I had to choose one location, I would pick the first spot. The photo of the seating outside is exactly what I like in a coffee shop. I love sitting outdoors while sipping on coffee 🙂

  • Its hard to believe that this magnificent Aqueduct in Segovia was built around 1st century to supply water from the Fuentes Africa river to the city. This was functioning until mid 19th century and has been maintained in an excellent condition and was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the old town in 1985. #TOTSinSpain #segovia #spain #traveldiaries #travelingram #traveladdict #wanderlust #travelblog #igworldclub #IGtravel #mytravelgram #travelblogger #travelgram #Aroundtheworld #passionpassport #exploringtheglobe #mytravelgram #wanderlust #worlderlust #mytinyatlas #welltravelled #travelphotography #traveltheworld #bestplacestogo #instapassport #theglobewanderer #discoverearth #roamtheplanet
