“Travel is more than the seeing of sights, it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent in the ideas of living” – Mirium Beard.

Hawa MahalTales of travelling sisters is a travel blog where two sisters share their travel experiences and passion for food with the world.

Hailing from the historic part of coastal Karnataka: Karkala (you can read a bit of our hometown here) the travelling sisters were always interested in the different cultures, gastronomy, and lifestyles around the world. And here we are living up our childhood dream of exploring the beautiful locations of our lovely planet and sharing it with all the lovely people through our blog “Tales of Traveling Sisters”. The blog started with us sisters travelling and exploring new places together, however after we both got married, we continue to chase our dream of travelling the world with our respective partners. As travellers we wish to try and do something new and exciting on every trip by combining fun, adventure and luxury.

Hema Hegde

An IT Engineer turned MBA professional turned makeup artist, travelling, history, and photography has been a passionate topic for me. Capturing the beauty of either the place or people through pictures has been a keen interest to me ever since I started traveling. And, how can I leave out on the delicious side of any travel? It’s just not the history and culture of a place that intrigued me to start this journey but also the love for food and to explore and taste new cuisines. I’m currently living with my Bangalore and have been dividing my time between being a freelance makeup artist, NGO for women empowerment and travel blogging. Every journey is a new story for us and I want to share our beautiful memories with the world through digital media and reach out to other travelers and readers.

From the eagerness and strong will to travel and visit new places and acquire new experiences, I came up with the idea of TOTS.  As a social media addict and a software engineer, I used my knowledge to handle technical aspects of the blog. The blog provided me with the medium to not only share about all the beautiful places but it also inspired me to bring forward the various veg delicacies from around the world. After living in Mumbai for more than 5 years as a marketing professional, I have made this city a permanent base and plan to continue the travel escapades with my life partner. Having graduated as a Yoga teacher in 2019, I aim to share my yoga journey along with my travel stories so as to motivate more people to lead a healthier and happier lifestyle.
